Bijoux Beach Villas is strategically situated in the north-western part of île aux Nattes, an island off Ste Marie, which is an island off the east coast of Madagascar, how much more remote do you want to be? An oasis of tranquility only interrupted by the occasional call of the inquisitive black-and-white ruffed lemurs, who visit us from time to time. Relax with your toes in the sand or snorkel in the calm reef. Watch the whales frolicking in the water from the comfort of your deckchair. Read a book or kayak, there are scenic beach walks, a great way to explore the island's natural wonders. Chilled afternoon naps, sunset cocktails and enjoy freshly prepared meals served by our enthusiastic staff.
Our story, our philosophy & sustainability
Bijoux Beach villas is a unique concept on the island as it is a co-operatively owned share-block holiday home created in 2015 by multiple owners to share this special place with their family and friends. A holiday home where staff and pets are treated as extended family. When owners aren't in residence, Bijoux is operated as a chambre d'hôte (guest house) for you and your family to enjoy. The vegetable and fruit garden (jardin potager) supplies the kitchen with fresh seasonal produce in our pursuit of a "farm to plate" food philosophy. Freshness, flavour and authenticity is what we strive for. Our other produce is locally sourced. We support local families, buy organic and other traditional Malagasy products and strive to give our guests a true Malagasy experience. Our lodge is completely powered by solar, our water is pumped from our well, as well as rainwater harvesting and French drains for sewage. All kitchen waste is used in our composting system.
